Netiquette

https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/social-media-for-business/ The article about it ethics and social media can be found here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/openforum/articles/ethics-and-social-media-where-should-you-draw-the-line/ (Assignment for COMM 414)

Using social media is a way that companies can have a conversation with their followers. However, most of the time, followers of social media do not want to feel that they are being sold something. It is better that a company tries to influence their followers, even though taking a sales approach is what companies do mostly.

I found these percentages interesting. 70% of a social media site should be valuable information. 20 % can be content that comes from other people. 10% can be promotional.

Companies should be ethical as the second article discusses:  Companies should be ethical online as they are in other advertising campaigns in marketing their audience. You know unethical behavior when you see it or experience it. The second article points out that it's much like pornography, you know it when you see it! The article points out that being unethical is knowing the right thing to do, yet doing the wrong thing.
